MiniHawk Hybrid

MiniHawk Hybrid

The MiniHawks are the result of years of technical experience along with newly developed, patented technology.
Due to their unique construction, the MiniHawk Hybrid solve problems associated with anamorphic lenses while preserving classic anamorphic characteristics. They offer super-close focus – almost like macro lenses – with no breathing while focusing. MiniHawk Hybrid are geometrically well-corrected, yet still preserve classic anamorphic characteristics such as elliptical bokeh and shallow depth of field, resulting in an organic cinematic feel.
These hybrid lenses have certain advantages over current technologies.
They are compact, lightweight, and fast, perfect for hand held filming and systems with reduced weight capacities, such as drones or stabilizing systems. They have super-close focus, almost like macro lenses, no breathing while focusing, and are geometrically well-corrected, yet still preserve classic anamorphic characteristics, such as elliptical bokeh and shallow depth of field that create an organic cinematic feel.

  • full blown anamorphic look
  • super close focus
  • high speed optics
  • ultra compact
  • spherical delivery
  • well-suited for CG

Canon Sumire Primes

Canon Sumire Lenses | Rec Roma - Spherical Prime Lenses / Large Format Prime Lenses

Personalise your craft with a range of Full-Frame cinema prime lenses named Sumire, with a specially designed ’cinematic look’ and interchangeable PL mount. Designed to offer delicate and subtle rendering of a subject, these seven Canon Sumire Primes lenses offer fast apertures and precise manual control with a crafted focus bokeh aimed at careful creative expression. A unique optical design offers a nuanced look at the lens’ wider aperture settings, subtly modifying textural renderings for pleasing bokeh with superb expressiveness. The lens offers wide compatibility options for PL mount 35mm Full-Frame and Super 35mm cameras and can be changed to an EF mount at any authorized service facility. Sumire primes inherit the same subtle warm colour tone from the Canon cinema lens range, making it easy to change lenses without affecting colour balance. A fast T-number is thanks to a large lens diameter and together with an 11-blade iris, offers richer levels of bokeh. The lens design also significantly reduces focus breathing. With carefully developed focus resistance, delicate focus adjustments can be made over a 300-degree rotation angle. All lenses accept 105mm screw-on filters, have a 114mm diameter lens front and have consistently positioned gears for ease of use.

Cooke Panchro/i

Cooke Panchro/i | Rec Roma - Spherical Prime Lenses

TLS RE-HOUSED

The growing demand for vintage Cooke Speed Panchro lenses from the 1920s to 1960s prompted us to introduce a modern redesign of the vintage classic. We are pleased to introduce Cooke Panchro/i Classic, T2.2 to T3.2 Prime lenses.

Our new Cooke Panchro/i, that is true to the original look of the now legendary Speed Panchro, recreates the same look and feel of the original with the advantage of modern glass mounted for today’s cameras. And, the new lenses come equipped with /i Technology for frame by frame digital information capture, as do all modern Cooke cine lenses for film and digital capture
Our Cooke Panchro/i Classic lenses are supplied with /i Technology that collect detailed lens data for production, VFX and post-production teams and are designed for all PL mounted professional motion picture film and electronic cameras. The /i Technology provides cinematographers and camera operators with vital information on lens setting, focusing distance, aperture and depth-of-field, hyperfocal distance, serial number, owner data, lens type and focal length in both metric and footage measurements, as well as inertial tracking data, shading and distortion data. For zoom lenses, the zoom position is displayed.

Zeiss Standard T. 2.1

Zeiss Standard | Rec Roma - Spherical Prime Lenses

The Zeiss Standard T. 2.1 are 35mm format lenses developed by Carl Zeiss for ARRI (then Arriflex), and predate the original Zeiss T. 1.2 High Speed series (Super Speed in the U.S.). Information on when the original set was introduced is hard to come by. A safe guess is after 1964 and before 1975. It is likely that this set was just called something like the “Zeiss Standard T. 2.1 Primes for Arriflex”, and once the High Speed lenses were introduced in 1975, they became the well known in the world “Standard Primes”.

The Zeiss Standard T. 2.1 are comparable in size to the Cooke Speed Panchro but are a more modern design and significantly exceed the optical performance (on the technical merits) of the older Speed Panchros. Focal lengths in the original series are Distagon 16, 24 and Planar 32, 50 and 85mm. An 8mm focal length for 16mm format was also available.
The small size of the Zeiss T. 2.1 barrels allowed three of them to be mounted simultaneously on the 3-lens turret of the ARRI 35IIB/C cameras. Zeiss Standard T. 2.1 also fit inside the prime lens blimp of the Arriflex 35BL I/II.

Zeiss Master Prime

Zeiss Master Primes | Rec Roma - Spherical Prime Lenses

The Zeiss Master Prime super-speed lenses are both fast and have an optical performance surpassing that of all standard speed primes. These lenses open up new creative opportunities of film making.

Unique high speed prime lenses with unprecedented resolution
Virtually no breathing
Master Prime lenses offer excellent optical performance across the whole T-stop range from T1.3 to T22
The patented Dual Floating Elements technology eliminated breathing in the Master Prime lenses
Uniform positions of iris and focus gears
Built-in Lens Data System (LDS)
The Master Prime lenses open up new creative opportunities, making shots possible that would have been considered impossible before. A widest stop of T1.3 allows shooting in low or available light for more natural-looking shots and a reduction of the lighting budget. In addition, a wide open stop creates the cinematic look of an extremely shallow depth of field.

The range of lenses in this kit provides you with the creative choices to fully cover shooting most scenes. The included lenses feature a Canon EF mount, and the kit consists of an ultra wide 14mm T3.1, 24mm T1.5, 35mm T1.5, 50mm T1.3, 85mm T1.3, and 135mm T2.2. The lenses are designed to deliver edge-to-edge sharpness and brightness and provide a cinematic image, even when using a 4K camera.
